Technologies to remove pollutants from water feature in the latest $50.4 million round of federal government Cooperative Research Centre Project (CRC-P) grants.

Companies to receive Round 17 grants include:

Bygen, $3 million, to develop sustainable technologies to remove PFAS “forever” chemicals from water;

Bulugudu, $556,314, to establish an indigenous-led biomaterials supply chain, and set up quality-controlled manufacturing, for medical grade cellulose nanofibers from spinifex;

Pegras Asia-Pacific, $1.575 million, to scale up technology to remove microplastics from wastewater;

Eyes of AI, $2.2 million, to develop the world’s first AI-driven early detection system for gum disease;

Second Life Solar, $3 million, to develop and scale silicon recovery and alloying techniques for recycled rooftop solar PV panels;

MicroTau, $3 million, to overcome manufacturing and product engineering barriers, to commercial production of the company’s drag-reducing “shark skin” film for aircraft surfaces;

AMSL Aero, $3 million, to develop a hydrogen power system for the company’s, currently in development, Vetiiia electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft.
