Melbourne private equity firm opens Sydney office

Melbourne-based income-oriented patient capital investment firm Straight Bat Private Equity has established a Sydney office.

The Sydney team includes fund operations manager and compliance officer Becky Barr, senior director Shaun Hopkirk and analyst Joshua Smith. They are now operating from a Sydney CBD office in Clarence Street.

“The new office is a significant development for the Straight Bat team,” said managing partner Steve Gledden. “Our portfolio companies and investors are based all around Australia and this was a natural step in our growth. Whilst the team have been based in Sydney for a number of years, this official office opening is the start of a great new innings for us.”

Strait Bat investee companies include 1300Temp Fence and insurance and risk legal business Wotton Kearney.
