Sydney private capital firm Liverpool Partners has reached a $350 million first close for a new Impact Multi Strategy Fund.

The new fund will sit alongside the firm’s private equity and disability housing strategies.

Liverpool Partners is seeking to recruit additional experienced investment professionals now that it can start making investments under the new strategy.

The new fund is targeting a final close of $400 million to $450 million and will invest following UN Sustainable Development principles while retaining a conventional private equity target of 20% annualised internal rate of return (IRR).

Institutional investors, including superannuation funds, have backed the new fund along with family offices and high net worth individual investors.

Liverpool Partners is planning to formally launch fundraising for a separate $400 million target growth capital private equity fund next year (APE&VCJ, Oct 2021).

Liverpool Partners is led by managing partners Jonathan Lim and Brad Lancken. The firm’s investment team also includes chief impact officer Katharine Walters.

Liverpool Partner’s current private equity investments include a stake in Zenitas Healthcare alongside Adamantem Capital. Zenitas’ provides services to enable elderly people to remain living in their own homes.
